My Story
In the real world, my name is Annett, though I write psychological thrillers under the pen name A.G.R. Goff.
I was born in Leipzig, East Germany, 13 years before the Berlin Wall came down, and my early years were shaped by the complexities of a divided country. Over the years, my life has led me across the globe—twelve years in Brentwood/Essex, London, and Ross-on-Wye (UK), where I was profoundly influenced by its culture and landscape, especially through the eyes of my late British husband.
After that, I spent a decade in George, South Africa, discovering new perspectives that have deeply enriched my writing. Now, I’ve embarked on a new adventure in Málaga, Spain, excited for the experiences this next chapter will bring.
While writing novels wasn’t something I initially set out to do, stories have always found their way into my mind, demanding to be told. From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the psychological intricacies of human nature—how love, betrayal, and hidden secrets drive people to their limits. These themes are at the heart of my work, as I explore the dark corners of the mind and the forces that shape our actions.
